New York State Pistol Permit Recertification Website Now Up and Running

| January 4, 2017

LiVecchi’s Gun Sales customers, the New York State Police announced on Tuesday that the website is now up and running for gun owners to recertify their pistols and revolvers.
As part of the SAFE Act, pistol and revolver owners must recertify their guns every 5 years, which means those issued a license before January 15, 2013 must recertify by January 31, 2018.
If they don’t, they could lose their permit.
The recertification process can be found online here, or you can download a form from the same website. Paper forms are also available at any state police stations.
Recertification is free and people must affirm they are not prohibited from owning a gun under state and federal law.
